Ha Noi beat Pune FC to progress in the AFC Champions League

Ha Noi T&T cruised in to the second qualifying round of the 2014 Asian Champions League with a 3-0 victory against India’s Pune FC. After a goalless first half, Australian Sam Gallagher broke the deadlock with his first goal for Ha Noi, heading home a Thanh Luong corner.

Substitute Van Quyet doubled the lead with another header before Hector wrapped up a comfortable win with 7 minutes remaining.

Ha Noi T&T will now travel back to the capital to celebrate Tet before heading off to Bangkok to take on Thailand’s MuangThong United on saturday the 8th February. Thailand’s league runners up last season will provide a much sterner test, especially with the recent arrival of former QPR (English Premier League) striker Jay Boothroyd.

Fortunately for me I’d decided to have my Tet vacation in Thailand, rather conveniently,  I’ll be heading up to the capital and going along to cheer on T&T!
