Hà Nội 4 – 3 FLC Thanh Hóa

Hà Nội edged out Thanh Hóa at the Hang Day stadium in a seven goal thriller. Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng stunned he league leaders with contender for goal of the season on 23’, his wonderful curling 30 yard effort leaving Phí Minh Long no chance in the Hanoi goal. The lead lasted just two minutes when Nguyễn Quang Hải’s effort was wickedly deflected beyond Nguyễn Thanh Thắng.

Trần Văn Kiên gave Hanoi the lead, weaving his way through the Thanh Hoa defence for his first topflight goal. In a raucous atmosphere both teams were not content to sit back in an end-to-end first half and just before the break, Pape Omar Faye curled in a beautiful equalizer from 18 yards..

On the hour Hà Nội took the lead for a second time, Đỗ Hùng Dũng lobbing the keeper from 20 yards, another contender for goal of the week. Buoyed by their noisy travelling support, Thanh Hóa refused to give up and looked to have sealed a point when Ngô Hoàng Thịnh’s 30 yard free kick sailed past Phí Minh Long.

In an incredible final twist Trương Văn Thái Quý was the unlikely hero when he crept in at the near post to head home Nguyễn Quang Hải’s cross and sealed the 3 points for the league leaders.

Đà Nẵng 0-0 Bình Dương

Quảng Ninh 1-0 CLB TP. Hồ Chí Minh

Hồ Chí Minh suffered their 4th straight V.League defeat as they fell to a single goal against 2nd placed Quảng Ninh. The defeat was hard on Miura’s side who had a legitimate goal by Trần Phi Sơn ruled out for offside with just 10 minutes remaining; the ref stating the ball deflecting in off a HCMC player in an offside position, where it clearly struck a defender.

Two minutes later luck favored the home side as Trịnh Hoa Hùng’s deflected effort looped over Nguyễn Thanh Diệp in the HCMC goal. Trần Phi Sơn picked up a 2nd yellow for dissent as HCMC’s depleted squad took another blow.
