Hồ Chí Minh 4 – 2 Đà Nẵng
HCMC city came from 2 down to seal a vital 3 points in their battle for survival. The home side looked set for another dismal evening when they found themselves 2-0 down after just 25 minutes. Epassi opened the scoring with a near post header before Hà Đức Chinh doubled the lead just 2 minutes later.
Nguyễn Hữu Tuấn pulled a goal back just before the break, scoring the third header of the game. Bùi Văn Long then wrestled Jadue to the ground inside the box with just over ten minutes remaining. The Palestinian striker got up and calmly sent Lê Văn Hưng the wrong way.
The following melee was one that is seen all too often in the V.League. Lê Văn Hưng kicked out as Jadue collected the ball, was pushed, and faked being hit in the face. He duly got a red card for the kick but his, and the backroom staffs’, behavior next was another typical unsavory V.League scene as officials and players surrounded, and at times jostled with, the match officials. Moment’s later Đà Nẵng should have been reduced to 9 men after Phạm Trọng Hóa’s terrible two-footed lunge was deemed only a yellow card.
HCMC buoyed by the dramatic turnaround sensed victory and took the lead when Jadue headed home Phi Son’s cross. Jadue completed his hat-trick in stoppage time, latching on to a through ball from Kelsey and easily beating substitute keeper, Nguyễn Thanh Bình.
It’s a first win in 13 league games for HCMC and the signing of Jadue may be the difference between playing in V.League 1 or 2 next season.
