Cần Thơ have been promoted to the V League 1 after comfortably defeating An Giang 3-0 in the promotion/relegation play-off, at the Go Dau stadium in Binh Duong. After finishing bottom of the table, some 9 points behind 11th placed Long An, An Giang were playing for there topflight survival. Cần Thơ qualified for the play-offs after finishing 3rd, behind Champions Dong Thap and second placed Sanna Khanh Hoa, in the V League 2.
After a delay of some 30 minutes, due to heavy rain, the match was able to begin and it was the second division side who struck first, thanks to Hoàng Hải Dương, heading home from close range.
After the break the African strike force of Diabate and Belibi sealed promotion for Cần Thơ. Diabate finished from close range before Cameroonian, Belibi, comfortably dispatched a penalty .
